Schuyler Center for Advocacy and Analysis (SCAA)
A statewide, nonprofit policy analysis and advocacy organization working to shape policies that improve the economic security and health status of low and moderate income New Yorkers, and help all children become capable adults. Partnering with New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (NYAPRS), and the Coalition of Institutionalized Aged & Disabled (CIAD), SCAA formed the New York State Coalition for Adult Home Reform (NYSCAHR) to create a consumer voice to advocate for adult home reform in the wake of the New York Times series on adult homes by Cliff Levy.
New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (NYAPRS)
NYAPRS is a statewide coalition of people who use and/or provide recovery-oriented community based services. NYAPRS offers scholarships to their annual conference, check out their website for more information.
Long Term Care Community Coalition
The Long Term Care Community Coalition is a non-profit organization that works to improve healthcare for the elderly and disabled. Formerly the Nursing Home Community Coalition of New York, LTCCC was formed as an ad hoc coalition in the 1970s on the heels of nursing home scandals in New York State. In 1982, because of a recognized need for a persistent watchdog and advocate for long-term care residents, LTCCC became a permanent coalition.
